Russian alternative to chictopia-people’s fashion destination.

I found this site, Russian alternative to Chictopia, accidentally and I was totally shocked: for this photo of poor girl Masha was left 100 comments from which approximately 60 are negative and offensive! Can you imagine that chictopians were so cruel??? Thanks God, here I met only normal persons, who respect other’s styles and personality!
I really can not understand why on that site people are so inconsiderate and angry! I’m Russian on half and it’s very unpleasant to realize that most (from that site) of Russian so-called “fashionistas” are so stupid! By the way…and even more sad fact: I found another Russian blog about fashion and there-the same situation! OMG…I’m so sorry for them…I just can’t believe it!
to let you see more precise picture of why that comments are offensive I’ll show:
-there are nearly 20 comments with offensive words toward her shape
-30-her style
-and nearly 10 about town(!) were she lives!(mostly there are written about the old-fashionedness her scarf ‘cause (as they said) “it is out of date now, but maybe there in her city it’s still…” ( By the way, I love her scarf! And I think that PERSONAL STYLE is important but not the actuality of accessories!
By the way, WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT ALL THIS?…

About your question:
It is fun how the things change. As you know, I am not a native english speaker and I started to learn english in a british school. So the british accent used to be so easy for me. But my english graduation happened, at least, 7 years ago and since then my only contact with the language is from the internet and tv series and movies. So, now, my ears are more adapted to the american english and not anymore to the british accent. So, in USA, it wasn?t hard to understand them and I guess everything was all right there. But, after this trip, I got back to the english conversation classes, because I want to speak a little bit better for my next trip in London in 2010…
So, the secret is watch and watch movies and tv series from USA that you won?t have any problems when you get there

why are people even bothering when they just wanna make negative comments. i never understood trolling around in the internet. If i only had to say bad things, i would just let it be

Oh gosh that’s terrible… i always think it’s a lot better to give positive comments to people to encourage them to experiment with their style more… if there’s anything negative to be said, it should definitely be objectively done and in a tactful manner. Things like this will only make people afraid to share their style and try out new things in my opinion.
